As the Chair of the AI Collaborative, David Collins is at the forefront of transforming Mississippi into a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) education, innovation, and digital inclusion. One of the flagship programs is the AI Educator Accelerator, which has trained over 900 educators across the state, equipping them with the skills to integrate AI into their classrooms. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to embed AI education throughout Mississippi’s K-12 and higher education systems, ensuring that the next generation is prepared for the AI-driven future.

Pioneering the AI Catalyst Program

David also plays a crucial role in the AI Catalyst Program, an innovative accelerator designed to empower businesses and startups by integrating generative AI into their operations. The collaborative was one of five awardees selected globally for the Generative AI Skills Challenge grant by data.org, which supports AI upskilling efforts in historically marginalized communities.
